Common causes of OTA failure and what to check.

Typical causes

Firmware binary does not match the target board
Power interruption during update
Network instability during download
Not enough free flash/memory for OTA

Recovery checklist

Confirm the correct firmware was assigned to the device.
Reboot the device and verify it reconnects to MQTT.
Retry OTA with stable power and network.
Watch device activity/runtime after retry.

If a device stays offline after an OTA attempt, reflash locally and rejoin the managed workflow.
